Cornell Basketball
Playing its first game in 1909, maintaining the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi, amassing 921 wins and 11 conference championships underlies the great tradition of Cornell Basketball. With head coach Mike DeGeorge at the helm in his fifth season Cornell basketball is an emerging program in the Iowa Conference.
Coach DeGeorge says this about his formula for success: “My experience has been in building programs. I like the challenge of changing the culture and the level of expectation. Cornell is a tremendous place that deserves an equally strong basketball program. We have built a unique basketball culture here by demanding TRUST and by recruiting not only talented players but great people. We currently have five valedictorians/salutatorians, five state champions, and five high school All-State performers on the roster.”
