JV Rams End Season Undefeated
Perfection is the word that best describes the JV men’s basketball team’s season. Cornell ended its short but perfect season after the defeated the Coe Kohawks 87-59. Cornell has seen little action this season but you wouldn’t be able to tell as you watched them. However, the Kohawks have played plenty of games this season and came to play. Coe’s defense kept them in the game in the first half, forcing the Rams to commit numerous turnovers. Cornell was able to go into half with a 5 point lead. In the second half it was all Cornell. The young Rams guards did a better job holding on to the ball and the offense began to flow as they finally started to get reversals. Coe had no answer for the Rams and with only 6 players fatigue set in. Cornell took advantage of Coe’s short bench and crushed Coe 87-59.
The Rams finished the season 4-0. “I really felt like we got better every game. It is too bad we were not able to get more games but sometimes you can’t help the weather. Going 4-0 does show what type of young players we have at Cornell and how much they mean to our program. Practice is real competitive and they really push our varsity team. I have been proud of their growth and they really made my job easier,” said Coach Decker.
